How to Get the Summon Item: Forged from three Spectral Serpent Scales (rare drops from Floating Medusa Heads in the catacombs) plus 200 gold at the resistance smith.

Boss Mechanics

Petrifying Gaze Cycles

Every 60 seconds, Medusa charges her eye beam for three seconds, flooding the arena floor with a petrifying light wave. Looking directly at Medusa or standing exposed on ground level builds up the Petrification meter. Facing away or jumping onto elevated stone pillars negates the gaze entirely.

Serpentine Tail Sweep

A wide-angle 360-degree ground sweep with significant knockback that knocks hunters into spike pits. Jumping with precise timing or wall-jumping above the sweep is required.

Ice Vulnerability

Medusa possesses thick gorgon scales that resist physical cutting, but ice-imbued strikes crack her stone shell, dealing double damage and slowing her serpentine slithering by 40%.

Medusa recovers 1% vitality per second when submerged in poison mist. Maintain high offensive pressure to out-damage her regeneration.

Step-by-Step Strategy

Preparation

Craft the Obsidian Gothic Plate for anti-knockback and petrification resistance, stock ten Holy Frostbrew potions, and apply Frost Vials to all sub-weapons.

The Core Loop

  • Fight exclusively near elevated stone pillars to prepare for the petrification gaze.
  • Turn your back to Medusa immediately whenever yellow eye glints appear.
  • Jump over ground tail sweeps and strike her serpentine coils during recovery.
  • In Phase Two (below 40%), Medusa summons serpent swarms β€” dispatch them with ice sub-weapons.

After the Kill

Medusa relinquishes the Gorgon Trophy, the ultimate proof of mastery for the 100% completion checklist in this chapter.

Store the Gorgon Trophy safely in your relic inventory β€” it certifies full game completion.

Rewards

  • Gorgon Trophy (100% completion artifact)
