Ruin Serpents Character Guide

Region: The Parisian Catacombs

Weakness: Common

Recommended Weapon: Achievement: Snakes speared in the ruins (14.4%)

Where to Find Ruin Serpents

Serpent foes dwell among the ruins of the Parisian catacombs — the stretch where the guardians carried the harvested souls. They are the most commonly evidenced enemy type in the launch window: 14.4% of all players worldwide already hold the "Snakes speared in the ruins" achievement (Steam global stats, October 15, 2026 snapshot), placing them squarely on the critical path.

How to Fight Them

Full behavior documentation is in progress post-launch. What the evidence pins down: they are numerous, they are speared in the ruins for a reason (spear-class weapons from the Armoury reach serpentine ground-crawlers safely), and Rose's whip swing lets her reposition above strike range when they coil. Bring flasks — with no sub-weapons, a cornered swarm is a flask drain.

Their name achievement sits at 14.4% globally — if you have not earned it by the catacombs, you have skipped the ruins; backtrack for the XP.

Why They Matter

The serpent theme threads through the endgame: Medusa — the serpent-headed seductress and Dracula's accomplice — is officially on the boss roster, and the catacomb ruins full of serpents are her natural rehearsal ground.
